Kathryn studied music at Royal Holloway, London University after gaining a 3 year choral scholarship. She studied with Jean Allister and Wynford Evans and whilst at college successfully auditioned to study on the performers course as a solo singer. As a choral scholar Kathryn was also a regular soloist for choral works and oratorio. Kathryn also continued to further her achievements on both the clarinet and piano whilst at university.
Post university Kathryn taught music at the Music Conservatoire in Amman, Jordan and the Ahhliyyah Girls School. Once she returned to the UK she worked in the charity field but continued singing with experienced choirs, such as the Yorkshire Bach choir and London City Choir.
After a career break to concentrate on her family, Kathryn then began to teach piano both privately and within the local primary school. She was also asked to lead the school orchestra and help with music in the school.
Since May 2012 Kathryn has been able to resume her vocal teaching and performing. She studied in London for further professional qualifications specifically concentrating on vocal teaching gaining Distinction for the CT ABRSM course and DIP ABRSM and as a teacher is highly in demand.
Recent performances include 10th anniversary celebration recital for Kemble music festival, Music for Compassion, Basingstoke and competition success includes wining Reginald Reed memorial cup for German song.
Alongside her music and family, Kathryn is a keen cyclist and also enjoys playing 6 string and bass guitar.
